This adorable creature is an American marten. I’ve found that most people have never heard of martens. I certainly didn’t know anything about them before I read “His Dark Materials” by Philip Pullman when I was a kid, and a pine marten doesn’t appear until the third book. All this to say: MARTENS ARE RATHER FETCHING CREATURES.
