A Healthy Start?

Muir Woods. If only I could sit in Cathedral Grove with a book for an afternoon.

Had my biennial visit with a doctor yesterday. Everything seems fine, although my blood pressure is a little high. I was surprised at first.

However, it surely is a small wonder. Between two jobs totaling 60 hours a week, full-time grad school and little sleep, I should expect my health to take a dive. I won’t even discuss my poor diet, but you know. I love food.

Something has to give, but saying “no” has never been easy for me. When I was young, I quickly learned that I need to grasp the opportunities that come my way.

I suppose it’s high time I unlearn that lesson and relax. Or I’ll take up tai chi or yoga.
