I’ve laid awake the whole night through
If I ever dared to think you’d care
This is what I’d say to you
You were meant for me
And I was meant for you
Nature patterned you
And when she was done
You were all the sweet things
Rolled up in one
You’re like a plaintive melody
That never lets me free
But I’m content
The angels must have sent you
And they meant you just for me…
But I’m content
The angels must have sent you
And they meant you just for me…
I couldn’t sleep when I got home last night, so I did something I rarely do; I turned on the TV. I doubt I would ever do that if I did not have cable, but fortunately, I get channels like TCM and AMC to entertain me.
“That’s Entertainment!” was on TCM. It is basically a documentary of MGM’s history
of movie musicals, and old stars like Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra were co-hosts. I enjoyed it because it consisted entirely of clips from old musicals like “Singin’ in the Rain” and “The Wizard of Oz.”
