A recent post by Barb Iverson on Poynter Online caught my eye. Blogging may be good for your brain and your health.
Yessssssssssssssss!
In the May 2008 Scientific American, Jennifer Wapner states that
Scientists (and writers) have long known about the therapeutic benefits of writing about personal experiences, thoughts and feelings. But besides serving as a stress-coping mechanism, expressive writing produces many physiological benefits. Research shows that it improves memory and sleep, boosts immune cell activity and reduces viral load in AIDS patients, and even speeds healing after
surgery.
Well! That makes me feel better about the countless hours I spend on blogs. I am an avid purveyor of the Blogosphere.
More to come later. Dinner time with the fam bam. We’re eating pasta and watching the Laker game.
