Received a nice little email from an old high school teacher, Leibs:
To all, on this day, from the poet Allen Ginsberg…
The weight of the world
is love.
Under the burden
of solitude,
under the burden
of dissatisfactionthe weight,
the weight we carry
is love.
It’s an excerpt from Ginsberg’s Song.
It means a lot when people from the past drop me a line. To know that people I admire so much think of me from time to time, fills me with untold joy.
Leibs is currently in Louisiana, and he even texted me during Mardi Gras!
Today is also the 154th birthday of George Ferris, he who brought us the wonder of ferris wheels. Thanks, Google.
